Here to Serve

My name is Marla. I have spent my life exploring my passion for healthy and soulful body movement. My love of movement led me to find an amazing prenatal yoga class plus Hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with my baby  in 2008, as  a pilates instructor and belly dancer, these added layers of movement and mindfulness helped me prepare for birth. With the support of my birth team, my daughter was born at home, in our bathtub. We chose a Lotus Birth which allowed for a deeply calm and healing first week of life together. My experience moved me to expand my education towards helping expectant mamas prepare for birth with intention. I am here to support you in creating the birth you visualize and also help you prepare for any unexpected events. I will be by your side through it all.  Birth is beautiful and wild. These life giving moments deserve reverence. It is my honor to help others in this most special time.

Happy Birthing!!

Working with Marla became such a beautiful part of preparing for the home birth of my second child. At 38 weeks pregnant, I performed in a belly dance show with her after practicing together for several months. Two weeks later, during labor, I found myself using the movements she had taught me to help work through contractions and move with my body.

Marla was patient, loving, encouraging, and such a joy to work with. My birth experience was everything I had hoped for, and I truly believe the movement, confidence, and deeper connection to my body that I gained through working with her contributed to that experience. I’ll always be grateful for the role she played in such a special time in my life.
